Events and Notices

Return of the Supersessons!
Feature sessions will be held on Tuesday evenings 18:30 to 19:30 at the Moseley club venue. These will start in September with a series of senior grade lessons, invaluable for grades blue belt and above. The Tuesday sessions will generally be geared towards technical learning rather than physical exertion.

Next Grading Exam:
30th November 2008

Protective Equipment

For focus pad and bag work. It's a good idea to wear protective gloves. There are a variety of bag-gloves on the market (at a variety of prices). Alternatively for focus pad work, feel free to wear your boxing gloves (those that have them). Gloves generally help support the wrist, protect the knuckles and help absorb the shock of the blow.

Males must wear a groin protector, especially when engaging in freestyle bouts. These are available from most sports shops for under a tenner.

Shin pads can also be a useful piece of kit, especially for practicing the 'leg intercept' techniques required for the higher grades.

For boxing and contact kickboxing bouts, full (closed finger) boxing gloves must be worn. Where strikes to the head are allowed, head guards and gum-shields must be worn and foot protectors must be worn for bouts where kicking is allowed (kickboxing).
